A Note of Interest: Geneva Jackson and her sister Naomi Jackson both painted in the style of their famous uncle A.Y. Jackson. They often adopted to create their paintings on the more common size of panel used by Uncle A.Y., which was 11.5 inch by 13.5 inch. Between the two sisters, it's noted that Geneva had the more refined eye and also chose subject matter that was near and dear to the places that she loved to frequent. The painting displayed here can be cosidered one of her finest St.Sauveur settings.

Geneva's sister, Naomi was also an accomplished writer and translator, publishing a number of works that focused on the life and career of their uncle A.Y. Jackson. Widely respected for her scholarship and philanthropy, Naomi Jackson Groves was awarded the Order of Canada in 1993. As well as being an artist, Groves was a distinguished lawyer, and lecturer at McMaster University.
